IT'S YOUR CALL.

Fight Crime in Nevada - It's Your Call

Crime Stoppers is a citizen, media and police co-operative program created to involve the public in the fight against crime. We provide citizens with a vehicle to anonymously supply the police with information about a crime. Rewards of up to $2,000 are offered to anyone providing information which leads to a felony arrest or indictment. Information is received through our secure tip phone line manned by trained personnel or through a secure web connection. Each caller is assigned a code number for the purpose of insuring anonymity.

Crime Stoppers started in Las Vegas under the name of Secret Witness in 1979 with $500 and has become one of Southern Nevada's most successful crime fighting organizations. With more than 189,000 anonymous tips, we've helped to apprehend more than 10,000 suspects.

CRIME STOPPERS HISTORY

Crime Stoppers was the brainchild of a young Albuquerque, New Mexico detective who was concerned and frustrated by the number of unsolved cases he was working, and in particular the ones which all-possible leads had been exhausted. Members of the local community, media and law enforcement came together in partnership to provide crime-solving assistance to law enforcement. This lead to the start of the very first Crime Stoppers program on September 8, 1976.
